News Anek is an independent Indian digital news publication. We explain the day's important news from India and the world clearly, from one-minute reels on social media to in-depth stories on this website. "Anek" means "many": many stories, told simply, for many kinds of readers.
We publish on this website and on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and X. Every story names its sources and credits every photo.
What we cover
- India: courts and rights, government decisions, public safety and stories from every state.
- Health: new research, public health advice and medical technology, explained with care.
- Sports: Indian athletes and the records they set.
- World: global stories that matter to Indian readers.
- Explainers: what a news event means for you.

Kumar Ujjwal
Founder & Editor ยท Grievance Officer
Kumar Ujjwal is the founder and editor of News Anek. He started News Anek with a simple idea: most people want to understand the news, not just scroll past it. Every story on News Anek is written to answer three questions: what happened, why it matters, and what it means for you.
You can write to him at contact@newsanek.com.
We use software tools, including AI tools, to help with research, design, illustrations and voiceovers. A human editor checks every story before it is published, and AI-made images are always labelled. Read how we work in our editorial policy.
