These standards apply to everything News Anek publishes, on this website and on social media.
Accuracy and sources
- We confirm every key fact with at least two credible, independent sources, such as court records, official statements, government data, peer-reviewed research or established news organisations. A primary document is enough on its own.
- We name our sources at the end of every story.
- We clearly mark what is confirmed, what is claimed and what is still unknown. Allegations are reported as allegations, and we say when a case is still before a court.
- We do not publish rumours, forwarded messages or unverified videos as news.
Fairness and independence
- We report news without favouring any political party, company or group.
- When a story criticises a person or organisation, we include their response where one is available.
- We do not accept money, gifts or favours in return for coverage.
Sponsored content and advertising
If we ever publish paid or sponsored content, it will be clearly labelled "Sponsored" or "Paid partnership". Advertisers have no say over our news coverage.
Photos, video and AI
- We credit every photo and video clip, with its source and licence.
- We use AI tools to make some illustrations, voiceovers and presenter videos. AI-made images are always labelled as illustrations and never shown as real photos of real events. AI-made video is disclosed on every platform that supports it.
- We never use AI to invent quotes, facts or events. A human editor reviews every story before publication.
Health, legal and money stories
Stories about health, law or money are for information only. They are not professional advice, and we say so in the story.
Sensitive stories
We do not identify survivors of sexual violence or children in conflict with the law, as Indian law requires. We take care when reporting on suicide, and include helpline information.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and say so. See our corrections policy.
