The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) in Puducherry has released the list of vacant seats for the Special Stray Round of NEET UG counselling for the 2026-27 academic session. The notice, dated 03-11-2026, covers MBBS, BDS and BAMS seats in the Union Territory, according to the education portal medadmit.in.

Key points

  • The Special Stray Round is the final round of seat allotment in Puducherry's NEET UG counselling.
  • Only one government quota seat is vacant: a General category BDS seat at MINDS, Puducherry.
  • Management quota has the most vacancies: 35 MBBS seats at SVMC&RI, 26 BDS seats at SVDC and 1 BAMS seat at RGAMC.
  • NRI quota and Management Quota – Telugu Minority show no vacancies.

What the vacancy list shows

The list shows the seats that remain after all earlier counselling rounds. It includes government quota, management quota and NRI quota seats across the medical and dental colleges of Puducherry.

In government quota, almost every seat has been filled. All MBBS seats at IGMC&RI, PIMS, SMVMC&H and SVMC&RI are taken. The only open seat is one BDS seat in the General category at MINDS. It falls in the Puducherry region. The notice also breaks down government seats by region, namely Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam, but no vacancy is shown in the other three.

Management quota seats are the ones available in larger numbers. These are seats that colleges fill directly, usually at higher fees than government quota seats. According to the report, the open seats are 35 MBBS seats at SVMC&RI, 26 BDS seats at SVDC and 1 BAMS seat at RGAMC.

Who can apply in this round

The Special Stray Round is meant to fill seats that stayed empty after the regular merit-based rounds. Candidates who did not get a seat earlier can apply. Those who already have a seat but want to change their college or course can also take part, as per the source.

The report says government quota admission depends on the candidate's NEET rank and category. The categories listed in the notice include General, EWS, OBC, MBC, EBC, BCM, SC, ST and BT. For management quota, the report says there is no merit-based rank cutoff, and eligibility depends on the NEET score meeting the college's minimum requirement.

Why it matters and what to do

This is the last chance to secure admission in Puducherry for the 2026-27 session. Since very few seats remain, especially in government quota, candidates may wish to check their category and eligibility carefully before applying. Fees in management quota are higher, so families may also want to review the costs.

The report advises candidates to confirm every detail against the official PDF notice published by CENTAC Puducherry, as the portal's summary is not a substitute for the original document.
